protected steel tanks must have the system tested every
three years. This requirement applies both to impressed current systems (using
a rectifier) and STIP-3 tanks. Lined tanks that are not cathodically protected
must be internally inspected within 10 years of the upgrade, and every 5 years
thereafter.
